法律英語中表示“某某人(rén)(•∑π>者）”，往往用(yòng)由動詞♥ ™派生(shēng)的(de)&ldquoΩ♦β;-ed”型名詞如(rú)“€£✘the accused ” (被告人(rén)）， “the accus™∑ed”（被保險人(rén)）、“the insured&&♣≤rdquo;(被保險人(rén)）、“the decease♠≤d”(死者）……©"這(zhè)些(xiē)詞固然可(kě)以用(yòng)通(tōngβ₽)常的(de)手段構成其所有(yǒu)格，如(rú)：
1. 死者的(de)遺産 the deceased'÷¥;s estate
2. 被告人(rén)的(de)自(zì)白(bái) the accused← 9;s confession
3. 為(wèi)被保險人(rén)的(de)利益 for th£↑e insured's interest 等等，但(dàn)是(shì)這(zh↕αè)種用(yòng)法從(cóng)修辭角度♣∑來(lái)看(kàn)，就(jiù)顯得(de)尴尬（awkward)了(le)§¶β。

要(yào)打破這(zhè)種（由動詞派生(shēng)的≈$♥(de)）“-ed”±β™型名詞所有(yǒu)格所造成的(de)僵局，有(yǒu)兩種辦法♦≈。其一(yī)是(shì)，變換詞彙，如(rú)不(bù)用(€↓∏∏yòng)“deceased”、“accused↕"”、“insured&r"©→¶dquo;而改用(yòng)“deceεΩ₹dent”...：
5. Appellant was under no duty to÷<♣ speak or inquire concerning detail of d→×ecedent's [而不(bù)用(yò↕±ng) deceased's] →•πwealth.

但(dàn)是(shì)，變換詞彙未必都(dōu)可(kě)行(x™↑<íng)。比如(rú)說(shuō)“insurant&rdquoαγ;此詞不(bù)如(rú) “insured”♠λ常用(yòng)，“decedent”又(yòu)不 π©(bù)如(rú) “deceased”婉轉， §φ≠且在英國(guó)英語中已經“obsolete”。于茲場(♦chǎng)合，就(jiù)要(yào)采用(€↓yòng)第二個(gè)辦法了(le)一(yī)一(yī)把“—eds&δ£≈rdquo; 改為(wèi)“of...-ed”:
